A woman with prior DWI convictions is in the Wichita County Jail after police say she and her car went airborne off of Avenue K.
Police say last night, just after 6:30 in the 2800 block of Avenue K, Officers responded to an accident where a woman driving a black 2002 Volvo was going eastbound, hit a dip in the road too fast and ended up landing on the back of someone's trailer.
Police say 53-year-old Tawnya Knowles attempted to flee the scene by running east on Buchanan.
They say she was combative with officers before admitting to having at least 4 wine coolers before driving.
After refusing a sobriety test, Police say Knowles was taken to United Regional as a precautionary measure and they ordered a warrant for a blood test.
Police say Knowles has more than 3 prior convictions, which makes her current DWI charge a felony.
