One Texoma town is marking the birthplace of a rock 'n' roll icon Tuesday afternoon. The Main Street Promotion Committee in Vernon will be placing a sign downtown to mark the birthplace of Roy Orbison.
The event will kick off at 11 a.m. on the site of the old Christ the King hospital at the corner of Pease and Deaf Smith Streets. There will be free hot dogs, free sodas and recorded tunes by the Vernon-born, rock 'n' roll legend.
