Last month, Vernon's water wells reached an all-time low for the month of May.

City Manager Mitch Grant says the well levels have stayed constantly low.

He says that's not changing because the city, like much of Texoma, just isn't getting any rain.

Last month, the Winston and Odell water well fields were down about three feet from their normal levels.

Grant says crews will be reading the wells again tomorrow as they do routine maintenance, so then officials will have a better feel of how those wells are starting off the month of June.
