In Graham, the proposition to make a hospital tax district passes today.

That means residents in Young County and Graham ISD will have to pay a bump in annual property taxes.

The measure passed by 140 votes.

The increase will not exceed 75-cents on each $100 valuation of all taxable property in the district.

In fact, hospital officials say it might be half that, at 37.5-cents per $100.

The Graham Hospital Board says it's in need of extra funds and this increase will generate more money.

These results still need to be canvassed  by the Young County Commissioners.
