Waurika city leaders will continue their search for a new city manager Thursday evening when they meet to look over the nine remaining applications for that job.

The full time city manager's job has been open since march when they terminated Chuck Brown. The job is now being performed by Brad Scott on a temporary, part-time basis.

City Clerk Rene Spradlin says, of the nine applications, one is local, five are from elsewhere in the state and three are from out of state. Commissioners also have not completed a final compensation offer to Brown since they terminated his contract.

After commissioners look at the applications, they may then decide which of those 9 candidates they want to interview in person.
