Waurika, Oklahoma--A small town just across the Red River best known best for it's annual Rattle Snake Roundup as well some of the best tasting catfish in Texoma.
That was the destination for this week's Pay-it-Forward where we were lucky enough to cross paths with Tommy England.
England has been running his plumbing business for 30 years and knowing how tough it can be for small business owners. That's why he wanted to help out someone else in a similar situation.
"They're hard working people here in Waurika and this time of the year it's good to just give money to somebody and they're the first ones to come to my mind," said Tommy England a Texoma business owner.
England said he thought of Garrett Flowers because he understands how hard it can be in the slower summer season.
"They can go get materials, they can go get supplies or help them out with their electric bill this time of year," said England.
With Texoma just recovering from a mini heat wave, Garrett's Flower Shop owner Joyce Garrett said that it couldn't have come at a better time.
"It makes me feel good, it does, because business has been pretty slow and Waurika is a little town," said Garrett.
Garrett has lived in Waurika since she was nine years old.
If you ever want to find out where she is, just head down Main Street, where for almost twenty years she can always be found in her shop arranging flowers.
Garrett said that she plans on using that 300 dollars from England to buy more crosses and other knick-knacks that are the bread and butter for her small store.
