Wee-Chi-Tah BMX tracks hosts State Qualifiers

- It's only been open a few months, but Wichita Falls' BMX track is already critically acclaimed. Wee- chi- tah bmx hosted the state races this weekend, bringing in hundreds of people, and one young racer that we met, is a very special and motivated young racer.

For nine-year-old Nora Flynn there's nothing like the rush shes feels getting on a bike and taking the twists and turns on the wichita falls bmx track, but Nora's no ordinary racer.

"Well I can't see so I use my bluetooth," said Flynn.

The latest technology helps this young racer compete in the sport she loves with the help of someone she loves.

"My dad tells me right or left and he tells me to roll down those little hills and i won the rhythm section when I was practicing," said Flynn.

Nora is just one of hundreds who traveled many miles to Wichita Falls Memorial Day weekend for the BMX state qualifier.

Some of these locations included Big Spring, TX, Fort Worth, TX and El Paso.

"This is actually our biggest event, and actually we've only been since january 13th," Bo Williamson, track operate said.

With competitors from all over, this event is great for the Wee-Chi-Tah BMX track, and also for the community.

"With everybody total I bet were easily pushing a thousand people right now, which is really good for the community in wichita falls," Williamson said.

And really good for nora.

"And I rolled the rhythmn section when I was practicing," Flynn said.

Nora also says she had a blast during her weekend at the track.

Races ran all throughout the day and operators said they were thankful that the rain held off, and even if it didn't they said nothing would stop thE biggest event yet at the track.
