Weekend Rain Not a Result of Cloud Seeding

-
Rain that showered Wichita Falls early Monday morning and Sunday morning was all natural.

A flash flood watch early Sunday and Monday morning produced nearly two inches of rain in Wichita Falls.

And officials say that moisture came without the help of cloud seeding.

Since March 1st, the City of Wichita Falls has contracted a pilot to seed clouds with flares when conditions are right.

To date officials say a pilot has flown 19 cloud seeding missions.

It will be suspended in July and August, the months rain is less likely to fall.

During the suspended months, officials plan to present an analysis to city councilors of how cloud seeding has gone before it resumes in September and August.
