The City of Wichita Falls is another step closer toward water conservation. Tuesday, city councilors received an update on the temporary water reuse project.

Once completed, it will to bring water from the River Road Water Treatment facility to the Cypress Water Treatment Plant and provide the city with more drinking water. Crews started constructing the pipeline on August 23rd and Public Works Director Russell Schreiber says crews are moving along nicely.

"By the end of this week, they'll have about 11,000 feet of that 63,000 foot project installed. So, about a sixth of it," Schreiber says.

Schreiber says the temporary water reuse project should be up and running sometime next year.
