- The WFISD took another look at its budget Tuesday.

And it's showing more signs that a 3.5% raise for WFISD employees can be a reality soon.

According to the WFISD numbers the district will have a surplus of $1.6 million, and that's after adding in superintendent Dr. John Frossard's recommendations he made a couple weeks ago to the school board.

He said the boost in state dollars has helped as well as making the district's operation more efficient.

“What we are trying to do is make sure that we could be good stewards of tax payers dollars and provide compensation for our employees,” said Frossard.

The school board must finalize and approve the school budget at their meeting on the August 20th.
