WICHITA FALLS---Police have identified the shooting suspect killed in and officer involved shooting over the weekend in Wichita Falls.
34-year old Armando Noeh Aleman was shot and killed by police officer Scott Poole early Sunday morning.
Police said officer Poole was making routine parking lot checks when he found two rival gangs fighting.
They say when he approached the fight, Aleman took off running and a witness said he was carrying a gun.
Officials say while running, Aleman threw a handgun into a ditch and continued to flee.
"Officer Poole caught up with the suspect at which time the suspect turned and pointed a second handgun at officer Poole. Officer Poole then discharged his handgun striking the suspect one time, " said Officer Jeff Hughes, Wichita Falls Police Spokesman.
Aleman was then taken to United Regional where he was pronounced dead.
Aleman was previously charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and burglary of a habitation.
