Wichita Falls also has a little extra change in it's pocket after saving about half a million dollars on the 2013 Street Rehabilitation Project.

The annual project repaved parts of McNiel, Kemp and Fairway but one area that was originally set to be repaved was removed from the project, resulting in the savings.

But project manager Blane Boswell says it was a decision based on timing.

“It wasn't really a true savings, the contractor ran over the amount of contract time that we had, there's an asphalt season, in the winter time it's really not good to lay asphalt, it's not warm enough temperature,” says Boswell.

That money will go to good use, it is being rolled over to the 2014 street rehab project that is set to start this month.

It will include parts of Fairway, Southwest Parkway and a few downtown streets..

The project will cost about 3 million dollars.
