Wichita County commissioners approve hiring an interpreter so the trial of man charged with the continuous sexual abuse of child can be set. 54-year-old Antonio Leija Junior is charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Court officials say one of the witnesses in the case is deaf and attorneys weren't able to secure a sign language interpreter at that time. But with commissioners' passage of this item, attorneys will be able to hire an interpreter from the dallas deaf action center.

Police say a now 20-year-old woman told them that Leija abused her for several years starting when she was 11-years-old. The woman said the sexual abuse continued until she was 14. Leija's case was supposed to go to trial last month. Police say they talked to Leija about the accusation and he denied committing the acts of sexual abuse. He remains in the Wichita County Jail on $600,000 in bonds.
