Wichita County Interdiction Unit seizes meth, cash

ELECTRA - A man is behind bars in the Wichita County Jail after a traffic stop at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Midway Church Road in Electra on Thursday which lead to the seizure of meth and more than $200,000.

According to Wichita County Sheriff's Office Officials, around 1:45 p.m. on  Thursday a Wichita County Highway Interdiction Deputy pulled over 53-year-old Manuel Demetrio Sequi-Garcia.

Sequi-Garcia had eight grams of methamphetamine and $272,609 in cash on him and was taken to jail.

Sequi-Garcia is charged with possession of a controlled substance and money laundering, and remains in the Wichita County Jail with bonds totaling $100,000.
