Jobs may be hard to come by these days but one place is looking to bulk up its workforce.
The Wichita Falls Fire Department plans on hiring 12 new fighters.
They're looking for men and women who are ready to help and keep everyone safe.
"They are energetic, they like to help people, they are giving people, they are friendly, they are just real solid people,"
that's the type of fire fighters Wichita Falls Fire Department Battalion Chief Don Groves says he's looking for.
And if that sounds like you, then this might be the job worth suiting up for.
To apply you must be between the ages of 18 to 36 and be certified as an emergency medical technician at the basic level or higher.
West McCalib was hired last year and says he loves the job and considers going out on calls a thrill,"It reminds me of a high school football game, it gets your adrenaline going and it's fun.
And going out on those calls is a huge part of the job and requires a lot of physical strength.
"Your out there pulling hose, you've got Scott Packs on your back which weigh 45 to 60 pounds. You could be called in to carry people out of a house, and it's just a very physical job," said Groves.
The fire department is missing one thing, females, the last one retired a year ago and they are still looking for more
And if that doesn't entice you, here's a little secret you should know,"We make a lot of good food so you will eat really well here," says McCalib.
Applications are due on July 13th
