Wichita Falls Man Arrested for Beating a Dog for Going to the Bathroom Indoors

A 48-year-old Wichita Falls man, Anthony Wills, is facing animal cruelty charges after witnesses reported he was holding a dog in the air by the leash and kicking it.

Police report around 8:30  last night they were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Kemp and saw 15-20 people fighting and arguing.

Officers separated the people and then interviewed them. One resident said she heard a dog yelping in pain and came out and saw Wills on his porch, holding the terrier mix in the air and repeatedly kicking it.

She and others said Wills then threw it on the porch and stomped on it. An officer said the dog was on his side and would yelp or growl when they approached it. Animal Control officers arrived and said the dog had severe internal injuries and a broken leg.

They said Wills signed over custody of the dog to Animal Control so it could be euthanized to end its suffering. Police today said Wills told officers he was angry because the dog had messed on the apartment floor.
