Wichita Falls Man Charged with Aggravated Assault of a Child, Sentenced

WICHITA FALLS - A Wichita Falls man is now sentenced to almost 40-years in prison, but the family of the victim say that sentence is not long enough because of the nature of the crimes he committed.

Freddie Hernandez received two 38-year sentences for aggravated sexual assault of a child, two 15-year sentences for indecency with a child by contact, a 15-year sentence for attempted sexual assault of a child and 15-years for promotion of child pornography. All those sentences however will be served together.

Police say the mother saw her 4- year old doing things  that made her suspicious and when she asked him, she said he told her that was what her ex-boyfriend, Hernandez, did to him.

When interviewed the boy described sexual assaults and molesting he said happened when his mother was not home.

Other charges involved an 11-year-old girl and a first grade girl. Police say some of the acts occurred when the victim was asleep and some were recorded.

In a victim impact statement after the plea, a relative told Hernandez  quote:  "We are not happy with the 38 years,  so you're welcome, and God bless."
