It's official...Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott says he's running for governor.
Texomans will have the chance to see the Wichita Falls native in town this week.
Abbott announced his candidacy today in San Antonio.
This comes six days after current Governor Rick Perry announced he will not seek another term as Texas governor.
Today's also the 29th anniversary of the accident that left Abbott paralyzed from the waist down, when an oak tree fell on him while he was jogging.
Abbott will make a stop in Wichita Falls, his birth place, during his five-day tour of the state..
That's Tuesday evening, and he'll address supporters in front of his childhood home in the 44-hundred block of Randel Dr.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m.
