Wichita Falls, Texas -
The Wichita Falls Police Department unveiled a new website on Friday afternoon aimed at improving the avenues of communication with the public.
Wichita Falls Police Sergeant John Spragins say WFPDNow.com is their latest tool in keeping the public informed through social media.
Since launching their Facebook and Twitter accounts, Spragins says they've received positive feedback from the community.
He says WFPDNow will give folks access to useful information.
"Everything is about getting as much information out to the public as quick as possible," Spragins says. "Obviously, if we were to run into a disaster or something of that nature, we would have one place that everybody could go where we can post things and keep an updated information going out in one area."
The site also features helpful links like "Can You ID?" and contact information to other departments.
Spragins wants to remind everyone that in an emergency, you should still call 911.
