The former Wichita General Hospital building in downtown Wichita Falls is now a big pile of debris.
Crews started demolishing the six story structure several months ago.
It has sat empty since United Regional opened Bridwell Tower in 2009.
Now, all that remains of Wichita General is a huge pile of rubble.
While it looks like crews are moving quickly United Regional officials say that's not really the case.
Officials say demolition is actually just a little ahead of schedule with crews currently gutting the basement, which is two stories in some areas.
"They have to dig all of that out and down. Dig all the concrete out of the ground. Get everything done. Get all the piers taken out then they have to back fill it all with dirt," says Rick Carpenter, a vice president at United Regional.
The entire building is expected to be gone by October 1st.
However, hospital officials believe crews will finish in September.
