What makes for a good burger?
Some say it's the beef, but one restaurant owner said it's all about the creativity behind the concoction.
Willie's Place was named one of the 15 best places to grab a burger in the state of Texas.
"It's quite an accomplishment to have one of the top rated burgers here in Texas," said Joe Martin. "Right here in Wichita Falls," he said.
Willie Harmon, owner of Willie's Place on 10th and Beverly, started out detailing cars and now he makes one of the best burgers in the entire state of Texas.
As for where the ideas come from for his specialty burgers, he said it's from the people who eat at the burger joint.
"A lot of it's customers," Harmon said. "I want to put this on my burger or whatever and we make up a name for it. I've left here at night and called one of my employees on the way home and said, 'Hey, what do you think about this?' And i don't know, you can try it," he said.
And Willie's loyal customers continue to show up to try whatever he's cooking up.
"Probably been eating over at Willie's for 5 or 6 years now," Martin said. "Great food, wonderful price."
And once you get your fill on one of these big burgers, Harmon encourages you to save a little room for something that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
"It started off as a challenge just to see how many different ones i could make," Harmon said. "Just about every kind of candy bar that you can come up with, we make candy bar cobblers."
Willie says he started selling cobbler after making a cherry one at his house and he also gets very creative on the ingredients when it comes to his desserts.
"It's endless. And it's customers most of the time saying, 'You know, I bet you could do this,'" Harmon said. "And I may throw a few of them in the trash to get it right, but we make them."
And he also continues to make new burger creations. In the eight years he's been open he has added almost 40 different burgers to the menu and he doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.
The search continues for a passenger fleeing the scene of crash.
