Woman Allegedly Attacked by a Man with a Baseball Bat

A woman is recovering at United Regional after police arrest a man they say hit her with a baseball bat. 47-year-old Raymond Alaniz is charged with aggravated assault family violence.

Sgt. John Spragins with WFPD says around 1:00 am,  Alaniz and a woman got into an argument at the Woodview Apartments and Alaniz hit her with a baseball bat.

The victim was dropped off at Seymour Highway after the alleged assault and met with officers around 11:00 this morning. After telling them what happened she was taken to United Regional with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

When officers got to the apartment to execute a search warrant, Sgt. Spraggins say Alaniz showed up and he was questioned by authorities. Inside the apartment, police reported finding the baseball bat and Alaniz was taken into custody.
