52 year-old Dana Chandler was sentenced to two consecutive 50 year sentences in Topeka, Kansas today.
She represented herself in court, and asked the judge for a retrial based on having been found guilty by quote, "an impartial jury". The judge denied the motion and then proceeded with sentencing.
She was arrested in a Duncan fast food parking lot in 2011 by a special task force of officers after a new effort was initiated into the cold case.
47 year-old Michael Sisco and his 53 year-old fiancee Karen Harkness were shot to death in their Topeka home in 2002. Prosecutors say Chandler had been harassing her ex-husband, and when she found out his plans to remarry, she traveled to Topeka and killed the couple as they slept in their home.
In a strange twist, today is the 30th anniversary of her marriage to Sisco, and her March trial began on the date her divorce with Sisco was finalized.
