Woman Gets Community Supervision in Fake Ring Scam

- A woman police say swapped real rings for fake rings at a local pawn shop is sentenced for the crime.

Forty-seven year-old Tina Crump pleaded guilty to one count of theft over $1500.

A second count of the same charge was dismissed.

Crump is sentenced to five years of community supervision.

An arrest affidavit states employees at Cash 'n More Pawn noticed two rings in the display case had been switched with fake rings that looked the same.

It states a Wichita Falls police detective was working another swapped ring case in which Crump was the suspect.

Authorities say he found the real rings at another local pawn shop where the affidavit states Crump and her son had sold them.
