Last year, local YMCA's helped more four-thousand area kids and teens learn the importance of health and wellness through their youth programs.
This year, they hope to help more, but they need your help to make that happen.
This year's YMCA Partners with Youth Campaign is now underway.
Local branches hope to raise $125-thousand, money that will be used to continue their youth programs.
Noel Filer, YMCA mission advancement director, says, "We really help kids' dreams come true and that can take shape in many different forms.  For some that's learning how to be a good basketball player.  For some, baseball.  For some, gymnastics.  For some, they learn how to swim for the first time.  We just want to help kids to develop self esteem, to learn how to believe in themselves, and to learn something that they're great at."
YMCA locations are accepting monetary donations for the campaign.
You can give at any branch and also by calling the Downtown Y at (940) 322-7816.
The last day for the campaign in Feb. 21.
