Young County will be getting some new election equipment. They have had their current polls since 2005. It ran on Windows 2000 which is not compatible anymore.
Officials say now is a good time to sell their old equipment while it can still be used by other counties.
The new machines will cost about $160,000, and they hope to have them in place by November 2015.
Election officials are also hoping to enact the super precinct by that time, so voters can go to any polling places.
“We're a really spread out county lots of far flung farmers, that sort of thing, it's easier for people to get to town and kind of do that,” say Lauren Sullivan with Young County.
Sullivan says she hopes a super precinct will help reduce low voter turn out.
