Downtown Wichita Falls is going green and it is all to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
While downtown businesses are highlighting the Irish holiday with drinks and food, the city will mark the day with a street festival.
Crews started slowly preparing the area around Indiana Avenue and 8th Street for the city's annual event.
And instead of a concert tent, crews will set up a concert stage so crowds can catch the headliner band.
"We are anticipating a bigger turnout this year because of Los Lonely Boys. They are Grammy winners and they have a huge following," says Cynthia Laney, Executive Director of Downtown Wichita Falls Development Corporation.
The event will also include lots of food, so coordinators have two portable handwashing stations so folks can clean up before they eat.
A Downtown Dash 5K Race kicks off the celebration Saturday 3 p.m., at the Downtown Farmer's Market at Ohio Avenue.
And, the festival starts at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $15 at the gate, but you can buy them before 5 p.m.
Presale costs are $12 for adults and $10 for military personnel and students with ID.
Children ages 12 and under get in free.
You can purchase presale tickets at the following Wichita Falls locations:
All three United Supermarkets in Wichita Falls, Turtle Creek Trading Company in Downtown Wichita Falls, Iron Horse Pub and the I.T.T. Office at Sheppard Air Force Base.
