In the hours and days after the attack, many top Administration officials (including Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and President Obama) said the attack was sparked because of an internet video.

However, Congressman Mac Thornberry, who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, said he felt like they were lied to by the Administration after it became clear the attack was pre-planned and had been for some time.

"It would be okay if they said 'we don't know yet, we're still gathering facts', but they were adamant that it was just this random mob," explained Congressman Thornberry, "and it is disturbing that they would need to make up and stay with that story."

Representative Thornberry went on to say without knowing exactly what happened in the attack in Libya, it would be hard to prevent a similar attack from happening again.
