The Wichita Falls parents trying desperately to bring their son's
remains home from Iraq received promising news during Friday's meeting
with department of defense officials.
Major Troy Gilbert's family was told the pentagon has reconsidered the
case ... and the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel office will
actively search for his body.
The family will also have an Air Force liaison who will communicate
with them and give them updates.
Major Gilbert went through pilot training at Sheppard Air Force Base.
He died in November of 2006, when his F-16 jet crashed as he flew low
to the ground, providing air support to troops who were being overrun

When American troops pulled out of Iraq, the family was initially told
no one was searching for Major Gilbert ... because a small amount of
identifying tissue had been recovered from the cockpit and buried at
Arlington National Cemetery.
Major Gilbert's family is calling this revelation an answered prayer.
