The Kitchen still needs volunteer drivers for its Meals on Wheels program.
Earlier this month, The Kitchen announced it will add about 150 new meals on wheels clients starting October 1st and made a plea to the public.
While several in the community answered the call, coordinators say they still need volunteer drivers for routes in East Wichita Falls because so far, they only have two driver to handle 13 routes there.
"And they are from the Eastside, so they are really conformable going over there. But, like I said, every now and then, everybody needs a break and so, therefore, we need some people to cover the Eastside," says Kelly Patton, volunteer coordinator for The Kitchen.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver for routes in East Wichita Falls calls The Kitchen weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at (940) 322-6232.
