Several hundred Midwestern State University students are all smiles Saturday night. After working hard and making the grade, they graduate Saturday morning during a ceremony that included a top Texas government official.
More than 650 students created a sea of black robes inside the Kay Yeager Coliseum Saturday morning.
And while students took pride in walking across the stage to become graduates, they received words of wisdom from Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott,  who gave the commencement address.
"As they walk across that stage and head in to the future, their lives are not going to be defined by how they're challenged instead by how they respond to them," said Abbott.
"Walking across the stage was awesome. You walk across the stage everything kind of settles in and you go wow I'm done," said Chirs Ford, who received his Bachelors in Education.
Now that graduates have finished this stage of their lives, it's on to the next and find a job. Thankfully, many of Saturday graduates say they already have one lined up.
