A member of the MSU Cycling Team is sporting some heavy metal and is bringing bragging rights to the university after a national championship.

Senior rider Jessica Prinner won gold in both the 3K Individual Pursuit and the Points race and silver in the Scratch race during the USAC collegiate track national championship in Colorado Springs.

And with all those wins, that put her on top to win the overall omnium as the best female rider at the event.

“It's amazing, I'm stoked about it. And I know a lot of the faculty that have put a lot into the cycling team are stoked about it. It seems like all our hard work has paid off and we actually have something to bring home and to show for it,” said Prinner.

Prinner says no one has ever won the omnium at MSU, so it's a big win for her and the school.
