Update:  Las Vegas authorities now say the death count has risen to 58 in the deadly shooting along the strip.  More than 400 people were wounded.

Concert goers were packed in at the Route 91 Country Music Festival near the Mandalay Bay Casino when shots were fired around 10 p.m. Video from witnesses shows large crowds of people running for safety as bullets rained down from the 32nd floor.

Las Vegas Police say the suspected shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada, is dead.

Officers shut down the Vegas Strip and flights in and out of the airport have been delayed indefinitely.

Dozens of victims remain in critical condition.

The investigation is on going.
