A local non profit is hosting classes that will help families and care givers of children who are diagnosed with mental illnesses.
The Wichta Falls chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is getting ready to offer another session of NAMI "Basic" courses.
This class has six-two-and-half-hour sessions that span over six weeks.
It offers information to families and care givers and helps them understand how to address concerns they may face with children with mental illnesses.
NAMI Program Coordinator, Hannah Fryer says"It is not they are a bad child or choosing to behave poorly and the parents are not bad parents its a brain disorder that can be fixed if they are getting the help they need".
The first session starts on Thursday from 6-to-8:30 at the NAMI office and its free.
NAMI has teamed up with the Sacred Heart Church and they will provide free child care during the classes.
Officials say they still have seats available and you can contact the NAMI office to pre-register.
