In Bartlesville, OK, just north of Tulsa, police arrested a student they say was planning a shooting at his school. 18-year-old Sammie Chavez was taken into custody Friday morning before school started.
According to authorities, an assistant principal reported possible threats made by Chavez. Students told the assistant principal that Chavez tried to recruit them to help in the plot involving a shooting and bombs.
The students said if they refused to get involved, he'd kill them and himself. Investigators also report finding damaging evidence on the student's computer, including searches for several types of guns and information on the Columbine shooting.
Police say the case is still under investigation, but Chavez is being held on 1-million-dollars bond.
