Texas doesn't even crack the top 10 of best college cities or towns ... whose populations are less than 250,000 ... but one does sit in the 11th spot.
That would be College Station, home to Texas A&M University.
Topping the list is Ithaca, New York, which is located in the central part of the Empire State.
Ithaca is the home of Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland Community College.
This town beat out 74 others to be number 1 in the best college towns and cities for students.
The list was based on student diversity, unemployment rate, degree attainment and earning potential.
Number two on the list: Ames, Iowa ..... the home of Iowa State University.
In third place: State College, Pennsylvania... home of Penn State.
