An important piece of the new World Trade Center is being put into its place.

Construction crews used two giant cranes this morning on the 104th floor to install part of the 408 foot spire that will top the building.

One World Trade Center is already the tallest building in New York City and by adding the spire, the building will become the tallest structure in the western hemisphere.

When it's complete it will tower over other buildings standing 1,776 feet tall. One World Trade Center is expected to open later this year.
