Family Found Safe after 2 Nights Missing in Nevada Mountains

A couple and four children were found safe Tuesday after disappearing in the frigid Nevada mountains Sunday night, according to local officials.

James Glanton, 34, and Christina MacIntee, 25, took their two children, ages 3 and 4, and a niece, 10, and nephew, 4, to "go play in the snow" on Sunday, but they didn't return home, according to Pershing County Sheriff Richard Machado.

The region is mired in a deep freeze. Temperatures "got down to minus 21" on the mountain range Sunday night, and were well below zero again Monday night into Tuesday, officials said.

The group set out for Seven Troughs mountain range and haven't been seen since. The silver Jeep the family was riding in was last seen "doing wheelies or donuts" at a mining camp in Seven Troughs, Pershing dispatch supervisor Sheila Reitz said. The mountain range is 20 miles from their house, she added.
