Mercedes recalls nearly 300,000 cars from 2008 through 2011. There's a problem with the rear lights. Corrosion on a connector can cause the tail, brake or rear turn signal lights to dim or fail.

Drivers should see a dashboard warning message if the problem strikes. Dealers will replace the affected parts at no charge, but they won't be available until August or September.

The recall covers some c300, c350 and c63 and cars from the 2008 through 2011 model years.
