NRA Convention Brings Intensified Focus to Gun Debate

(NBC News) The first shots in a major gun battle were fired in Indianapolis Friday.

The National Rifle Association opened it's annual convention, but opponents to the group are also gathering, hoping to grab some of the spotlight.

70,000 gun owners from across the country have gathered in Indianapolis

The group has momentum coming into their yearly meeting. On Wednesday Georgia's governor signed a measure that's been called the "Guns Everywhere Bill" that will allow gun owners with concealed carry permits to take their weapons into school zones, churches, government buildings and even some bars.

Meanwhile, gun control advocates are launching campaigns of their own.
