(KOB) A New Mexico man is accused of driving drunk and crashing faced a judge Wednesday afternoon, but it's what police said happened before the crash that's really hard to believe.
Police said the crash happened Monday night in Albuquerque. Officers said they found an open bottle of vodka in a vehicle, a shoe, a naked woman and a man hiding in an unlikely place.
Luis Briones appeared calm in Metro Court; a stark contrast to the man APD described Monday night. Police suspected the 25-year-old was driving drunk on Pennsylvania so they followed him. APD says Briones ran a red light and crashed into a car at the intersection of Menaul Boulevard.
His passenger, a woman, was thrown from the vehicle. Police say she was naked. According to a criminal complaint, Briones didn't seem concerned about his lady friend and even tried to get away but a witness took his keys.
