Terrifying Texts Sent During Navy Yard Shooting

(KVLY) Monday's shooting spree at the Washington Navy Yard hit close to home for Fargo, North Dakota meteorologist Mick Kjar of NBC affiliate KVLY.

His daughter was there in building 197 when the shooting began, and she communicated with her family through text messages.

Mick's granddaughter, Krystal Stock, was also in Fargo Monday morning. As usual, her mother had texted her a quick "Hello." Then, another message arrived: it was Krystal's mother again, this time saying there's a shooter in her building.

"I was saying, 'I love you,' the whole time," Krystal said with tears in her eyes. "There was times where she'd write back and say, 'I love you too. More than anything.' It was hard to get those and not hear from her for a couple minutes."
