Texas Purse Snatcher Bites Victim

(KPRC)  Texas deputies are searching for a woman who bit a 69-year-old woman while trying to snatch her purse.

The victim had been browsing inside the Charming Charlie store in Pearland when two women inside made her uncomfortable with stares and how close they were standing to her.

Brazoria County sheriff's deputies said the woman decided to leave and one of the women who made her uncomfortable attacked her.

A woman, believed to be 20 to 25 years old, tried to steal the woman's purse, but the victim refused to hand it over. The thief bit the victim to try to make her hand over the purse, investigators said.

Two witnesses came to the 69-year-old's aid and the woman got into a waiting getaway car, deputies said.

"A human bite is probably one of the worst injuries that you can have," investigator Andy Kerstens said.

The victim has to have a series of shots, just in case the attacker had the deadly Hepatitis B.
