Around 200 people, decked out in their St. Patty's Day best took part in the event, which also helped raise awareness of everything Downtown has to offer.
"Downtown is a fantastic place to go," said Walter Lambert, one of the organizers of the Downtown Dash, "one of the goals of Downtown Proud is to bring more people downtown and get them excited about it."
Keith Pierce of Wichita Falls was the first runner to finish the 5K, with a time of 14 minutes and 1 second.
