In the spirit of love some Wichita Falls firefighters traded in their hoses for roses. And there were plenty of bouquets to be delivered. Florists at Bebb's in Wichita Falls said they had to order 3,000 roses just to be able to fill the demand. And the off duty firefighters were happy to make the special deliveries.
"I kind of got asked by some of the other firemen here and we've kind of passed it along as a tradition. But it's a great part time job for us. We do Valentine's Day and Mother's Day and it really helps them because of our knowledge of the streets," said Captain Martin Grassi, WFFD.
Grassi began his deliveries around 7:30 Tuesday morning and estimates he delivered about 65 arrangements. He says helping out on Valentine's Day is something he looks forward to each year.
