The death of a Wichita Falls mother's young daughter has her urging you to give the gift of life.
Twenty-three month old Peyton Hood died nearly two years ago from a rattlesnake bite.
While blood did not save her life, her mother says it did prolong it so relatives could make it to her bedside to say their final goodbyes.
So now, she's teamed with Texas Blood Institute to host a blood drive in her daughter's honor.
The Peyton Hood Celebration Blood Drive is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at River Bend Nature Center at 2200 3rd Street in Wichita Falls.
