Family and friends from around the state and nation said a final farewll to a Marine Veteran and long time aerial stunt and race pilot.
Relatives say 77-year old Howard Pardue died doing what he loved most in the world, flying an F-8-F Bearcat Fighter.
Wednesday afternoon his fighter plane had barely left the runway at the Stephens County Airport before it hit the ground and burst into flames.
Services were held in Breckenridge Monday April 9,2012.
He was a Veteran of the Marine Corps and flew almost all the high perfmance aircraft in he Military, and after retirement as a major, became a flight instructor.
He performed in air shows around the world and raced in the Reno Air Show for 29 years.
The family requests memorials be made to the wounded warriors project.
