Unattended death now being investigated as a homicide

Wichita Falls police officers say the death of 69-year-old Madonna Mclellan, whose body was found in a home south of Cunningham elementary Wednesday is now considered a homicide.

Officers say McLellan was found dead in the 41-hundred block of Thomas Avenue.

They say the caller claimed to see blood in the home and her body was sent for autopsy. Officials say the preliminary autopsy results show she suffered a traumatic injury.  Those details have now led authorities to believe the death was suspicious.

Detectives say they believe McLellan was specifically targeted and have no evidence to indicate that the public is in danger.
