A loose animal recently had Wichita County sheriff's deputies scurrying, squealing and scratching their heads.
Last Thursday a Vietnamese pot bellied pig was spotted roaming along Old Electra Road near Iowa Park.
This 50 pound escape artists eluded sheriff's deputies.
The next day, Wichita Falls animal control crews finally corralled her, but officials say it was not a quick capture.
"She's friendly but she's not a real fan of being poled and when you've got a pig that size you're gonna have to pole her you're not gonna just pick her up and it took them about 45 minutes to catch her," says Steve Dodge, animal control supervisor with the Wichita Falls Animal Services Center.
So far, no one has claimed the pig, which has been named Pigaritta.
Officials say if the sheriff's office can't take her Monday, she will be sent to a rescue.
But if the rescue doesn't have room for her, their final option is for her to be adopted through the Humane Society of Wichita County.
