Just as familiar as those Friday night lights is the voice of the Iowa Park Hawks. For 65 years now, fans of all ages have listened to Robert Wilcox calling the game.
“First game of the season the superintendent put me up in the booth. He says if you mess up, i'm gonna pull your hair out.”
Over the decades he's only missed three games and the thing that keeps him coming back year after year is his love of the game.
Wilcox says, “I just love the Hawks. That's all there is to it.”
Plenty has changed over the years; new stadiums, new uniforms, but Wilcox voice has remained a constant.
Next year will be the first full year in the brand new stadium. You can bet the Hawks biggest fan will be back in his own suite in the new press box.
